Asian & Pacific Islander Community Awareness and Resources for Elder Services (API CARES) is a program dedicated to providing Accessible and comprehensive mental health services to the Asian Pacific elderly (age 60 and above). The program, funded by The California Endowment, consists of lead agency, Asian Pacific Counseling and Treatment Centers (APCTC), and six partner agencies: Asian Pacific Islander Older Adults Task Force, Chinatown Service Center, Korean Health, Education, Information, And Research, Little Tokyo Service Center, Thai Health And Information Services, Inc. and United Cambodian Community. The goal of API CARES is to offer mental health services in Asian Languages (e.g., Chinese, Japaneses, Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Thai) in the communities where older adults live. Services provided through API CARES include but are not limited to community outreach & education, case management, social support, social services, and mental health treatment.
